This is a collection of stories about my time spent working and living in hostile environments as a soldier, a security contractor and as a CEO for both anti-piracy and land based security companies. It is a 25 year journey that is filled with failure, defeat, death, survival, courage and some victories. It is a tapestry of how those experiences changed the way I make decisions, ultimately saving my ass on both the battlefield and in the boardroom.

Follow my failures and triumphs as I slowly begin to understand the decision making process, my own biases, heuristics, the psychology of judgement, intuitive thinking and situational awareness. I eventually figure out how to use both parts of my brain and more importantly, how to apply it all to real world fast and slow decision making.
